TikTok users are in dismay following an incident of a professor chastising a student for audibly playing a lecture outside a classroom.

The incriminating footage, initially posted by a University of Dallas student on TikTok, has since captivated over 7.3 million viewers.

Professor harasses student for listening to lecture

In the viral video shared by @coritoocutee, a university professor is standing in the doorway of her classroom filming on her iPhone.

A student is sitting at a wooden desk right outside of the classroom listening to a lecture on her laptop out loud.

She turns the video up to full volume to prove a point and says: “We can do this all day.”

“POV: A professor harasses you for listening to a lecture because she doesn’t wanna close her door,” text on the screen adds.

The teacher walks around and films the student from different angles before videoing a notice on the wall.

“Why did this lady call campus security before this video and had a tantrum because they couldn’t escort me out,” the student wrote in the caption.

Student explains entire incident

In a second video, the student explained the entire altercation, which actually happened more than six months ago.

Her class was cancelled so she found a spot to watch a lecture while she waited for her next lesson in 40 minutes.

The professor asked her to turn it down because she had office hours soon, and the student politely apologised and reduced the volume.

However, the educator complained about the volume once again and asked her to get some headphones or leave, to which the student refused.

That’s when she called campus security, who saw no issue with the pupil watching the lecture and left without doing anything.

After that, the teacher started filming to try and get a reaction, but the student stayed calm and didn’t say a word.

In the comments, TikTok users are furious at the teacher for treating her that way and applauding the student for standing up for herself.
